Next weekend
workshops in Hawthorn:
Jan 17 &
18, 2009
Absolute
beginners; or those who play by ear; or those who just want to
brush up on their sight reading: all will love a weekend
workshop.
We cover all
the basics of sight reading music, and playing keyboard with hands
together: skills which adapt to almost every other musical
instrument, including voice.
Join the
thousands of adults who have experienced one of our entertaining
and educational weekend seminars.
The weekends
run 10 to 5 on Saturday and Sunday, usually twice per term, from
our Hawthorn studio. Morning and afternoon tea and a
complimentary lunch at a local cafe are included.
The seminar is
based around small group discussion, activities, practical
exercises, and listening to performances. There is plenty of
flexibility for the beginner or more advanced student to
participate at their comfort level.
Adults of all
backgrounds have successfully completed the session, and leave with
the basic skills required to read and play music.
You will
probably not go home a concert pianist, but you will usually
impress family and friends with your new skills. You will
learn a variety of folk, pop, blues and classical styles, and the
goal for the weekend is that everyone leave being able to play the
first page of Bach's Prelude in C.
